To me, dentistry, specifically orthodontics, is more than a profession; it's a calling rooted in service, transformation, and connection. It allows me to combine science, art, engineering, and compassion to improve not just smiles, but lives. Every patient is special, and I consider it a privilege to be trusted with their care.
Orthodontics challenges me to think critically and creatively every day in solving complex puzzles. I love the cerebral nature of orthodontics in developing a personalized treatment approach and executing precise tooth and jaw movements. I’m also energized by the constant innovation in diagnostics, technological applications, appliance design, and treatment delivery; it keeps the field dynamic and progressive.
Above all, what drives me is knowing that my work can make someone feel better about themselves. I'm passionate about helping my patients achieve smiles that are healthy, functional, beautiful, and uniquely theirs, smiles that enhance their self-worth and confidence. As Ralph Waldo Emerson so aptly wrote, “To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived—this is to have succeeded.”
My Education and Experience
My journey into healthcare began in high school, driven by three core aspirations: to become a healer, serve the public, and explore the world. During college, I discovered my calling in orthodontics while working at my uncle’s practice. I was drawn to the field’s unique blend of health sciences, artistic creativity, and technology.
In my senior year, a U.S. Army healthcare recruiter introduced me to the Health Professions Scholarship Program. It offered the perfect opportunity to pursue orthodontics while serving this great nation. I accepted the commission and have spent over a decade as an Army officer, fulfilling both my professional and personal mission through diverse assignments around the world. My last Army position was to serve as the orthodontist and faculty mentor for the Fort Hood Advanced Education in General Dentistry Two-Year Residency Program. I held an assistant professorship with the Uniformed Services University as well.

Continuing My Educational Journey
My lifelong commitment to continuing education stems from a deep desire to serve others through the profession I love. My comprehensive expertise extends to treating children, teens, and adults, encompassing braces, aligners, growth modification, surgery, cleft lip and palate care, interdisciplinary care, airway management, and other advanced techniques. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and member of multiple dental organizations where I frequently participate in study groups, educational courses, and meetings. By consistently refining my clinical skills, knowledge, and emotional intelligence, I ensure my patients receive the most effective, up-to-date, and compassionate care possible. I want to honor the trust my patients place in me and continue to grow into the clinician they deserve.

Making Lubbock Home
For Colleen and me, being active in the community isn’t just important, it’s part of who we are. We believe in serving beyond the walls of our practice and investing in the well-being and growth of the families around us. As newcomers to Lubbock, we’re eager to deepen our involvement by partnering with local schools, health clinics, and community organizations to promote dental health awareness.
So far, we've supported organizations like Covenant Children’s Hospital, the Lubbock Youth Orchestra, and the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. We’re also proud to mentor pediatric medicine residents from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) and pediatric dental residents from Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas.
Outside the Office
I like to say I hit the jackpot in dental school—not just with my education, but by meeting my future wife and lifelong partner, Dr. Colleen. She’s nothing short of amazing: talented, determined, inspiring, and kindhearted. At the time, she was serving through the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program, but with a little persuasion (and maybe a touch of charm), I convinced her to join the Army. Together, we proudly served as Army dental officers for several years before putting down roots in Lubbock, Texas.
Near the end of our military service, we were blessed with our spirited and witty daughter, Sophia, who keeps us laughing and always on our toes. With her endless energy and love for people, she brightens every day. Both Colleen and Sophia motivate me to be the very best version of myself—at home, in the community, and in my profession.
Outside of the office, you’ll usually find us enjoying family time. We love to travel and seek out new adventures—a passion that grew while stationed in Germany, where we had the privilege of exploring more than 20 European countries and immersing ourselves in their cultures.
When I’m not planning our next adventure, I enjoy staying active through fitness, getting lost in a good book, discovering new restaurants, and unwinding with comedy, music, or the occasional fast car. But above all, my greatest joy comes from making my family smile—because when they’re happy, life is good.
