Office Visits

Pediatric Dental Visits

At Double T Smiles, we’re committed to providing your family with safe, gentle, and high-quality dental care. We understand that children—and even parents—may feel a bit anxious about visiting the dentist. Our team is sensitive to every patient’s needs, and it’s our goal to make each visit comfortable, positive, and fun while delivering the best care possible.

Your child's first visit is all about comfort, confidence, and care.

During this appointment, we’ll review your child’s dental and medical history, take any necessary digital X-rays, and gently clean and polish their teeth. We’ll check for cavities, early signs of decay, orthodontic concerns, and other oral conditions. Afterward, Dr. Colleen will discuss the findings, explain any recommended treatment, and answer all your questions so you feel confident in the next steps.

Please remember to bring the following items to your child’s first visit:

  • Completed patient information form (or fill it out digitally before your appointment)
  • Any past dental records or X-rays, if available
  • Your dental insurance card

Routine checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile! The American Dental Association recommends visiting the dentist every six months for cleanings and exams to keep teeth and gums healthy.

We know families are busy, so we do our best to make visits efficient and convenient. Please plan for your appointment to last about 30–60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs.

Orthodontic Visits

Our greatest goal is to give every patient a healthy, confident, and beautiful smile. Choosing orthodontic treatment is an exciting step, and we’re honored to be part of your journey. Our team will guide you through every stage of treatment and ensure your experience is comfortable, rewarding, and personalized. We use the latest technology and a variety of safe, gentle treatment options to create a plan that’s tailored just for you.

Your Initial Consultation

Every smile begins with a consultation! This first visit gives you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, and discover which treatment options are best suited to your needs. During your consultation, we will:

  • Review your dental and medical history
  • Perform a complete oral exam, including X-rays as needed
  • Create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss financial details, insurance options, and payment plans

We’ll answer all your questions and provide everything you need to make an informed decision about your care.

What Happens Next

After your consultation, initial photographs, and digital impressions, we’ll schedule your first treatment appointment—an exciting milestone! During this visit, Dr. Mike will place your new orthodontic appliance. It typically takes about an hour, and our team will make sure you’re comfortable and fully understand how to care for your new smile.

Scheduling Appointments

Regular orthodontic visits—typically every four to eight weeks—are an important part of your treatment progress. We’ll work with you to make scheduling as convenient as possible. Please let us know what days and times fit best with your schedule, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

We understand that life happens! If you’re running late or need to reschedule, simply give us a call. Our team will gladly find a new time that works for you. When you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, our friendly scheduling coordinator will guide you through the process. We look forward to seeing you and helping you achieve your best smile!

Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment

Even while undergoing orthodontic care, it’s essential to continue regular dental checkups every six months. Routine cleanings and exams help keep your teeth and gums healthy throughout treatment. If any additional dental care is needed, we’ll coordinate with your family dentist to ensure you receive the best care possible.
